Securing green light for an extension to Crystal Palace Football Club’s Main Stand to increase seating capacity for an additional 8,225 spectators whilst also providing an additional 24,522m² of floor space internally to be used for the operation of the football club and ancillary functions along with a 550m² restaurant/retail unit. These enhancements were identified to enable the Club to properly engage alongside other top-flight football clubs.

The application was submitted following constructive pre-application discussions with the Council, GLA and TfL along with a member briefing and public exhibition to showcase the proposals.

MRPP quickly secured the highly complex scheme notwithstanding extensive technical issues and consultation with GLA, TfL and other consultants on a wide range of issues including amenity, traffic and public safety. The application was determined at Committee within 11 weeks following submission.

Effective negotiations took place with the Council to secure an appropriately longer period for implementation and beneficially appropriate conditions to enable effective use of the stadium and its facilities.
