Whilst advising on the redevelopment of a tired industrial estate, the Council sought to interpret maximum car parking standards unreasonably, thus severely limiting parking for a car dealership’s operational purposes.

By rationally explaining the nature of activities that would occur on site, and separating out parking that was a function of the business rather than generated by visitors or employees, we were able to justify additional adequate spaces for operational purposes.

Permission was granted locally.
