Following our securing the grant of planning permission for this superstore-led mixed use development in 2010 (and winning against two other schemes), Tesco decided not to develop out their consent. To optimise the site’s value we secured the renewal of the permission before it expired. This assisted disposal.
By effectively utilising relevant Central Government guidance on renewing planning permissions, which requires Councils to consider only the material differences since the consent was first granted, we were able to substantially minimise the amount of supporting information required in support of the application. That helped focus the Council’s mind on only the relevant issues, helping to secure a prompt and positive outcome.
